We, as a Guild and at local level, need to improve our recruitment of new blood into ringing and the retention of existing ringers. The Recruitment and Education Committee is here to help do exactly that! Below we have included all the information about what the Committee offers to you and all the projects we run and support for the Guild.

Bell Handling

A vital part of learning to ring is having good bell handling skills. This will enable you as a learner to progress on to other aspects of ringing. It is a core foundational skill of the excercise. These early skills learned form the foundations on which the later skills are built. The difficulty for the new learner is knowning what 'Good' actually looks like. 3Rs Workshop

If you would like to put together a recruitment campaign but want some more ideas about how to get started then, following on from our initial success, we plan to run another 3Rs Workshop soon.

The workshop is designed to give you ideas on recruitment and retention and encourage you to share your own ideas and experiences with others. It covers a wide range of topics on recruitment and retention, with group and open discussion. As well as information, a special workshop pack is given to everyone and all the 3Rs equipment is there for demonstrations.

The workshop session lasts about an afternoon, and, from the group feedback, it is time very well spent!
