Welcome to the Leicester Diocesan Guild
The Leicester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers was created when the old Midland Counties Association came to an end on the 31st December 1945. Since our formation in 1946 we have continued to promote ringing for Divine Service, secure recognition of the importance of ringing as part of Church work and advance the art of scientific change-ringing. Today we have approximately 700 members and 181 ringable towers in our Diocese
We also continue to help and assist in the maintenance and restoration of bells and belfries in the Diocese.
You will see from this website that we are an active and vibrant Guild with a wide range of activities organised across six districts, including recruitment, training and social activities.
We are lucky to have some wonderful rings of bells in our Diocese and all set in some beautiful countryside. The Guild actively supports bell restoration and augmentation projects through our fund raising. We continue to work with the clergy of the Diocese and others to keep our bells ringing out to the glory of God. It is also vital that we enjoy our hobby and we are a very open and friendly society. If you are visiting our Guild I hope you enjoy your ringing and will come back soon.

Bells on Sunday
All Saints Wigston bell will be featured on the Radio 4 programme ‘Bells on Sunday’ this Sunday, 24th January, at 5.40am and 12.45am (midnight) for approx 3 mins. The recording was taken from a quarter peal of Stedman Triples rung in 2017 in memory of Jill Staniforth.
