Bellringing is one of the ‘gems’ of our countryside, towns and city. To recognise this, and as an opportunity to promote ringing across the Leicester Diocese, we have booked the Maplestead Mini Ring for The Rural Celebration Day on 9th June, 11am – 4pm at Brooksby Hall, near Melton Mowbray, LE14 2LJ.

Pete Brown from the Melton District is co-ordinating the ringing during the day (11am-2pm and 3pm-4pm), we would love to keep the bells ringing so if you could come along and help, either individually or by bringing a band, please let Pete know This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. It would also be helpful to have people who can teach bell handling as we encourage people to ‘have a go’ and generally promote bellringing to other visitors.

The Rural Celebration Day is a free, fun day out for all the family which will include workshops, worship and prayer, together with food stalls, a BBQ, shopping, hands-on activities and a chance to meet the animals at Brooksby Farm.

The day marks the end of the Rural Commission, which has been exploring how the Diocesan Vision for “Shaped by God” comes to life imaginatively in our countryside. They will be presenting their initial findings and giving you the opportunity to discover more about the many rural gems in our diocese.

Our Bishops invite you to join them whether you live in the town, countryside or city. The entire diocese is coming together in celebration and they want you to be a part!
